QM Course Design with OER

BIOL 1408 and 1409 (Biology for Non-Science Majors)

Two courses developed for Quality Matters Peer Reviews in Spring 2018. 

The courses were created with Open Educational Resources (OpenStax)  by a team of faculty at Brookhaven College and Northlake College. The subject matter expert, Dr. Jeanmarie Stiles, led the team of faculty and facilitated team communication on both course designs.

The master templates for both courses were created for sharing with adjunct faculty in both colleges to improve consistency, student outcomes, and equity for instructional materials.

QM Course Design

SPAN 2311 (Intermediate Spanish)

The course was developed for a Quality Matters Peer Review in Spring 2018. 

The course was created by Dr. Silvia Graham for Brookhaven College using a Title IV grant.

This course is designed to further develop students' overall language proficiency and cultural knowledge through more advanced reading, listening, speaking and writing exercises.

Connecting Courses to Job Pathways

Logistics Distribution Technician Certificate

Lead the instructional design team to develop this certificate program for Dallas College E-learning in Summer 2021. The certificate consisted of six credit courses.

The courses were created by Professor Steven Drayton and the Curriculum Innovation Instructional Design Team at Dallas College.

This certificate program was designed to connect career centered learning to the academic course designs. In each course, the team scaffolded soft skills into each course such as written communication (email), resume, Linkedin profile, and mock interviews.
